A Train to Pakistan

A wish,
A sigh!
A longing to stay,
A mud house,
Bull carts and charpoys,
A huddling crowd,
A mesmerizing smile,
A village badmash,
Glorious than all,
A life,
A soul,
A nation,
Torn apart,
A river,
Flooded with corpses,
Collect wood!
Turn blood into ashes,
A brother,
A mother,
A sister, with others…
A station,
A plot,
Remorse, guilt and fraud,
A train to Pakistan
